Death and burial procedures

If someone dies in Jordan, these are the procedures:

The police must be called

The police and ambulance will come

The police will investigate the scene

The body will be brought to the hospital for further examination

The body will be stored in a freezer

The dead person's administration and health/life insurance will be checked

The persons embassy will be informed of the death

If someone was present during the death, that person will be interogated by the police and in court

If the person has no health/life insurance these will be the costs for burial:

SCENARIO 1

If the person claimed to be a muslim, the burial costs will be 200jd. This includes a Muslim burial ceremony, a coffin and all other things around it. The person will be buried in Jordan.

SCENARIO 2

If the person claimed to be a christian, the burial costs will be 1500jd, but the Christian church of  Jordan will pay 50%. You will pay 750jd. This includes a Christian burial ceremony, a coffin and all other things around it. The person will be buried in Jordan.

SCENARIO 3

If the person claimed to be an Israelite, they will link that person to Askenazi/Khazar Israelis.

Which they (the 90% majority Muslims in Jordan) basically dont like. They actually hate them.

The dead body can not be buried in Jordan. It must be transported out of the country. It will cost a lot of money to arrange transport. Expect 1000 jd - 2000 jd or maybe even more.

SCENARIO 4

If in all 3 cases the money is not paid, the body will stay in the freezer for 1 or 2 months and then the goverment will do whatever they want with the body.
