Brick rooms in the desert

We advice that you also build small brick rooms on the land where you have your tents.
Do not underestimate the desert weather. It is good to have brick rooms too.
They are more weatherproof than tents.
Make brick rooms of 6m x 4m.
You make a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom inside the room.
It will cost you around 1500 jd - 2000 jd total.
It can be finished within 2 weeks.

Materials needed for a 6m x 4m room:
​
525 bricks (185jd)
90 iron rebars (3jd-3.50jd per rebar of 6 meter= 270jd - 300jd):
30 rebars for the 4 corner poles
60 rebars for the roof (14mm rebars and 12mm rebars)
​
cement (50 bags = 250 jd)
stones (free)
fine sand ("safood") 20 jd
gravel ("hashma") 20 jd
fine limestone ("bodra") 20 jd

a water tank 50 jd
for the making of cement.
​
renting iron poles and wooden planks for the construction of the roof
200 jd
​
The workers (10jd per persoon per day)
make sure you also provide food and drink for them
you need around 3 - 4 workers

Buying and building a tent
!!!ATTENTION!!!

Make sure your tent is ankered in the ground very well.
If not, your tent will be uprooted by the wind; your tent will fly away.
And your furniture will be blown into the desert.

In Jordan a tent is called: "Geeme"
The traditional bedouin tent cloths are called: "Sadu"
The traditional bedouin tent cloths made of goat-hair are called: "Beit Shar"
The traditional bedouin tent cloths made of camel-hair are called: "Pakistani"
